I feel guilty and sad when we put out ant bait to stop any infestation that has grown beyond the usual cures of removing the source of temptation and erasing with mint oil the ants’ marked trails. I feel less, if any guilt, about killing roaches and wasps. Question: Is my problem that:
- I feel any guilt over the killing of insects in general? or
- I have drawn arbitrary lines of murder-worthiness between insect species, and who am I to pass such judgement?
I tend toward the latter…

Have you tried bits of marshmellows and trails of graham-crackercrumbs to lead them out the door?
Oh! Susanna!
I was going to write something deep about world/god view and how it relates to you and/or how things have value. Instead I will simply make the statement that prairie dogs are roach-wasps with fur and must be exterminated
Well you could look at this the same way you could look at eating meat. If a cow had the chance would he eat you? Think about it. Those damn dirty devious cows. Thats my reason to partake in the wonderfully tasty murder of those plotting cows. Oh, my bad. About the ants well, if you wouldn’t feel guilt about protecting smoo then don’t feel guilty about protecting you home.
